More than 180 organizations sign on as Collaborative Care and measurement-informed care emerge as national priorities

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 29, 2026): HHS launched its National Behavioral Health Quality and Best Practices Voluntary Pledge today, and more than 180 organizations signed on. Five Path Forward partners were in the room: the American Psychiatric Association, Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, NAMI, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, and Shatterproof.

Throughout the day, payers, physician groups, and patient advocates came back to the priorities Path Forward partners have long championed:

  • Integrated models that connect primary care physicians with behavioral health care managers and consulting psychiatrists, like Collaborative Care
  • Routine measurement of whether patients are getting better
  • Payment tied to outcomes, and removal of longstanding regulatory barriers

Federal health leaders named Collaborative Care directly as a model to scale. The event is one of the clearest public signals yet that Collaborative Care and measurement-informed care are moving to the center of the federal behavioral health agenda.
