We are honored to announce that NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, has joined Path Forward in our mission to ensure equitable access to quality mental health and substance use care. Through their network of 650 local affiliates and their national HelpLine, NAMI mobilizes 15 million people, supporting the wide net of those impacted by mental health conditions, including individuals, their families, friends, and communities. NAMI’s leadership in advocating for individuals with mental health conditions and their families has had a profound impact on communities across the nation.

Addressing the Mental Health Crisis Together

The mental health crisis in the US has reached unprecedented levels, exacerbated by the ongoing behavioral health workforce shortage and inequities in access to care. Millions of individuals, especially in underserved and marginalized communities, continue to face barriers that prevent them from getting the care they need when they need it.

Through this partnership, NAMI joins Path Forward and our partner organizations as we address these challenges head-on by advocating for policies that promote the integration of behavioral health into primary care settings, incorporate quality measurement, and increase and optimize the behavioral health workforce.

A Brighter Future for Mental Health and Substance Use Care

Collectively, Path Forward envisions a future where mental health is as important as physical health, and where every individual has access to the care they need. NAMI’s inclusion in Path Forward represents more than just a partnership—it’s a commitment to transforming behavioral health care in the US for the better.
